No-Cost Hiring Support
The Employment Connection provides no-cost recruitment and screening support. Services include distribution and acceptance of employment applications, verification of right-to-work documents, and management of candidate flow. Employees can be pre-screened to meet requirements.

The Workforce Investment Board (WIB) provides Tulare County employers with recruitment assistance. From weekly Job Connect events, customized recruitment events, or large-scale job fairs, the WIB Business Services team is ready to help connect you to our local workforce. The VEDC partners with the WIB to host three Visalia Industrial Park Job Fairs each year.
Employee Training
The College of the Sequoias Training Resource Center offers short-term customized training programs at little or no cost. Topics range from welding to leadership, Microsoft Office to social media. The Training Resource Center also holds a contract to provide training through the Employment Training Panel (ETP) which provides employers the opportunity to train new workers and enhance employee skills. ETP Training funds reimburse the employer for the instructor’s costs, books, training materials, and administrative costs.

RECRUITING QUALITY EMPLOYEES

“ Thanks to the Visalia Economic Development Corporation (VEDC), we have been able to connect with other businesses and peer groups to share our concerns and identify needs from an industrial perspective. This has resulted in new training programs being offered, and we have been able to recruit and hire quality employees. We associate all of this with our membership in the VEDC and the VEDC’s Industrial Roundtable meetings. “ – Rodney Wilson, Plant Manager
